Experience Nature’s Quality Escape
Tucked away on the secluded Pit River arm of Shasta Lake, Jones Valley Resort is still only a short drive from Redding (about 20 minutes). The houseboat rentals and resort’s concrete dock system, as well as its fleet of houseboats, was designed to be safe, wheelchair accessible, comfortable, and user friendly. The houseboat marina even has a floating recreation center located on the dock complete with basketball, pool table, ping-pong, foosball, and shuffleboard. The marina store is well stocked with everything you will need for your stay on the lake including ice, groceries, beverages, fuel and unique apparel. For the angler, the resort has a great selection of live bait and tackle.
Shasta Lake
The houseboating capital of the world, and well known as one of the best recreational lakes in the nation, Shasta Lake is the ideal place for your next vacation. This magnificent body of water, with over 360 miles of shoreline, is the best that Mother Nature has to offer. Shrouded by the massive Shasta Trinity National Forest, Shasta Lake is home to over 20 species of fish, black tailed mule deer, bald eagle, osprey, ring tailed cat, California black bear, and a host of other wildlife.
Summer days are very warm and sunny with high temperatures averaging nearly 100 degrees. Shasta Lake is primarily fed by rainfall, not snowmelt, making for very comfortable water temperatures - a heavenly 78-degree average in the summer months. Whether its skiing, swimming, fishing, hiking, relaxing or spending quality time with your family and friends, you’ll find it on Shasta Lake.
For optimal fishing and wildlife viewing, come to Shasta in the spring. The lake is at its highest level, and the fish are as abundant as the photo opportunities.

First class vacation experience all the way! Patti and I had the time of our lives and the pictures to prove it. The kids and grandkids went with us and we made memories that will last a lifetime. We are already planning our next trip and wish we had taken two weeks instead of one. Bring plenty of drinks and sunscreen and if you can go for two weeks, then thats even better!
Rating:My wife and I were looking for a 20th anniversary experience that would really be something special. The good news is that we found it right here! Our houseboat holiday was one of the most exciting yet relaxing things we have ever done…and we have been fortunate to travel all around the world. The staff was professional and even had some special decorations for us to help celebrate! We could not have been happier and if you are considering a houseboat vacation, these folks know what they are doing! And by the way, we’ll be back for more fun soon. Thanks again!
