About Our Company
Our Houseboats were designed for the non-boater who has skippered nothing more than a rowboat ….. or even that. Even if you can’t tell bow from stern, port from starboard, you can be the master of a houseboat. Houseboat controls are simplified down to the very basic instrumentation so that the vacationer doesn’t have to spend time buried in a manual trying to figure out the equipment. You’ll meet Mike, who will take you through a briefing to familiarize you with all the workings of your boat and to make sure everything is in working order. He will even give you a demonstration cruise prior to your departure.

History
Mike’s family has always had a passion for the Mississippi River. As a young child, his parents spent a few weeks every year renting a houseboat and vacationing on the Mississippi River. As time went on, the family moved to Wabasha, MN and bought their first houseboat.

After Mike completed college, he had an opportunity to purchase Great River Houseboats and did. That was nine years ago. His goal was to provide affordable, safe, fun and adventurous opportunities for families to enjoy boating and the Mississippi River. Mike has accomplished this goal, however, he not only enjoys the Mississippi River, he also enjoys his business. (By the way, his parents still own the original family houseboat.)
