R & R Houseboat Rentals

Quality of life and warm shining waters is what the Kawarthas are famous for. Lounge on the upper deck basking in the summer sun while you float down the Trent-Severn Waterway or relax in the shade of the forward awning. Spot the blue herons standing sentry along a river of the Kawartha’s in Ontario.

Houseboating in Ontario the way it was meant to be.While underway you can feel the gentle breeze blow through your hair, and for those of us who must… we can put in at Bobcaygeon Ontario and have our hair done for a night out on the town. Anyway you slice it, life is grand when houseboating the Kawartha’s. There are many small friendly communities rich in history, snuggled warmly in the arms of the Kawarthas. You can dine out tasting a variety of cuisine from hamburgers to Chinese food and everything in between. Or, you can cruise to an out of the way place and drop anchor for the night.

Take your houseboat through the world-famous Peterborough Lift Locks. Glide under the fireworks at the Festival of Lights. You’re the Captain and it’s your call…

Why a Houseboat Vacation…?

You can’t beat a houseboat for a relaxing and tranquil vacation. A houseboat cruising the Kawarthas… now that’s just heaven. Our houseboats are fully equipped with everything you need to thoroughly enjoy swimming, sunning, barbequing and entertaining on your floating cottage. Our Sundance houseboats are easy to handle for even novice boaters, and we provide you with an orientation course including hands-on demonstrations and navigation skills before you cast off.

Providing you with a safe, relaxing vacation that your whole family can enjoy is our goal at R&R houseboats. We’re sure that your visit through our gorgeous waterway will be one you’ll never forget.

Who Can Sail a Houseboat..?

Just about anyone. All you require is a valid driver’s license and to be 25 years of age or older. The Sundance houseboats are easy to handle even for the first time captains who might not think so at first glance. R&R gives you an extensive orientation and seamanship course which includes everything from starting your outboard, tying knots, docking and locking as well as hands-on demonstration on how to maneuver your houseboat.

Can We Get Lost.. ?

The entire Trent-Severn system is marked with green and red buoy markers which are all consecutively numbered. You simply stay between the markers and you “shouldn’t get lost.” R&R supplies charts upon which all of the buoy markers are shown, so if you get lost just go to the next marker, read the number then find it on the charts. All of this will be explained in more detail during your orientation at the docks.
Pack Your Bags…

We suggest you bring bedding (pillows & sleeping bags are recommended), CD’s, tea towels, bath towels, bio-degradable soaps & shampoo, flashlight, camera, cooler for extra drinks, radio, fishing equipment, variety of clothing, garbage bags, insect spray, sun lotions, games, cell phone, Binoculars, etc.
