Whereas some marinas on the lake may have suffered from the lower lake levels brought about by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers current work on Wolf Creek Dam, Grider Hill Marina & Resort still boasts a 100 foot drop from our docks, which makes for great fishing and boating.
Add to that the fact that within just 3 miles of Grider Hill Marina & Resort docks there are enough little coves and bays to afford our guests a sense of serenity and privacy even in the middle of the busy boating season. We are also the first to have our own second story dock set with tables for dining and enjoying the lake when we aren’t using it as a sound stage for an outdoor concert. Grider Hill Marina & Resort on Lake Cumberland really does have it all.
Someone at the docks said there was a party going on in a nearby cove later that evening, but really, who needs to go to a party when you’re already surrounded by your best friends? Just make sure you plan ahead and BYOB because all of Lake Cumberland is dry.

My family and I stayed there, and rented the largest houseboat they have, and I have to say it was a vacation we we will always cherish together. The staff (all) were extremely helpful and courteous, especially the boys who helped us load and unload our boats. They are all younger, but not one of them made any reference to our beer/alcohol being a good tip. They were respectful to us, and made us feel so welcome. They even went out of their way to make us more comfortable and helped us over the few days we were there with no complaints. It is a beautiful lake to vacation on, and such a good family atmosphere. Our five year old had the time of his life! The rooms were in beautiful shape, very clean. I would give GHD ten out of ten stars!
Rating:Worth every penny and everyone in our family agreed…the best vacation we have ever had! Can’t wait to do it next year. The only problem we had was running low on storage capacity for our cameras because of all the pics and videos we took!Can you imagine?
